Longevity: Gillian Bigelson Of Bonjour Delilah On Daily Choices That Add Years to Life
We often hear about breakthroughs in medicine and genetics that may extend human life, but what about the simple, consistent choices we make every day? From how we move, eat, sleep, and manage stress, to the quality of our relationships and routines, daily habits can quietly shape our long-term health. In this interview series, we are talking to doctors, nutritionists, researchers, wellness experts, and anyone with deep knowledge in the field of health and aging about, “Longevity: Daily Choices That Add Years to Life”.
As a part of this series, we had the pleasure of interviewing Gillian Bigelson.
As a longevity devotee and the founder of Bonjour Delilah, my self-care rituals are where science, intuition, and elevated beauty converge. I’ve spent years refining practices that support cellular vitality, emotional grounding, and radiant skin — and those same principles ultimately shaped the philosophy behind my brand. I begin each morning intentionally. I sleep with my phone on airplane mode to reduce EMFs, and when I wake, I check messages while keeping my environment calm. I use QuantumUpgrade.io to elevate my energetic baseline and counter environmental stressors — because to me, biohacking is both frequency and physiology. While I make my morning “concoctions,” I play beauty or longevity YouTube videos for inspiration. I start with hydrogen water, then creatine mixed with Seeking Health electrolytes and a drop of methylene blue. My internal longevity stack includes targeted peptides like SS-31 and MOTS-c for mitochondrial optimization, GHK-Cu and BPC-157 for repair, TA-1 for immune resilience, and retatrutide for metabolic support. I also recently completed another round of ProLon, the fast-mimicking diet I use periodically to reset metabolic efficiency and amplify autophagy. I’ve always been a skincare lover — mists, essences, serums, massage, all of it. But for years, nothing in body care matched the sophistication or performance of my face routine. The textures weren’t right. The ingredients weren’t advanced. The results weren’t transformational. Bonjour Delilah was born from that gap. La Crème du Luxe is the treatment I created for myself — a face-grade formula for the body with a sumptuous, cushiony texture; bioactive potency; and a mood-boosting scent that elevates the ritual. It’s powered by nutrient-dense botanicals, clinically backed actives, and tallow. Tallow was a deliberate choice. It’s one of the most nutrient-rich, skin-compatible fats available — but for me, it’s also about honoring the animal. Using every part with respect and purpose matters to me. Transforming something that would otherwise be discarded into a luxurious, regenerative skincare experience feels meaningful, sustainable, and aligned with my values. After skincare, I move into grounding practices: red light therapy with gratitude affirmations, foot release with a tennis ball, stretching and foam rolling in the red glow, and meditation on my red light mat with crystals and binaural beats. It’s my daily reset before stepping into work mode. My dogs are a huge part of my wellness routine. I take them for a morning walk while getting sunlight and practicing Italian with the Pimsleur app. Giving back to animal rescue is deeply personal to me — donating a portion of every product supports the animals who bring so much joy into our lives. And throughout the day, I can’t resist taking breaks to kiss and cuddle my pups. Those little moments keep me grounded and sane when things gets hectic. After our walk, I make coffee and lie on my shiatsu massager with my girls at my side, easing into emails. It’s a simple ritual that keeps me connected to myself. Movement is woven throughout my day: multiple walks, aiming for 10,000+ steps, and gym sessions focused on heavy lifting. I raise my vibration with house music and dance between sets — joy is part of my longevity practice. Weekly massages? Non-negotiable. My entire lifestyle — biohacking, cellular regeneration, intuitive rituals, honoring the animal, and supporting rescue organizations — reflects the soul of Bonjour Delilah. For me, luxury is not just how a product feels; it’s how deeply it elevates your life, your wellbeing, and your connection to the world around you.
Thank you so much for your time. I know that you are very busy. Our readers would love to get to know you a bit better. Can you tell us a bit about your background and what first sparked your interest in longevity?
I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of beauty, biology, and how we care for ourselves over time. Long before launching Bonjour Delilah, I was deeply immersed in wellness studying ingredients, rituals, and the subtle ways daily choices shape how we age. What initially sparked my interest in longevity wasn’t a single “aha” moment, but a growing realization that traditional beauty often focused on quick fixes rather than long-term skin health and vitality.
Longevity, to me, is about honoring what has been overlooked: the skin as a living, adaptive organ that reflects how we nourish, protect, and respect ourselves over decades, not just seasons.
None of us build meaningful impact alone. Is there a particular person, experience, or moment that shaped how you think about aging, healthspan, or daily habits? Can you share a story?
Watching women in my family age profoundly shaped my perspective. I saw firsthand how stress, self-neglect, and putting everyone else first accelerated wear not just on the skin, but on energy, confidence, and joy. At the same time, I witnessed how small, consistent rituals nourishment, movement, touch could be quietly catalyzing real change.
Those experiences taught me that longevity isn’t about extremes. It’s about care that’s sustainable, pleasurable, and deeply human.
You are regarded as a leader in your space. Which three character traits have most influenced how you think and act when it comes to long-term health and longevity? Can you share a story or example for each?
Curiosity. I never accept “that’s just how it’s done.” This led me to explore ingredients like grass-fed tallo. An ancestral yet scientifically sound choice when developing La Crème du Luxe.
Patience. Longevity rewards those willing to think in years, not weeks. Building Bonjour Delilah required trusting slow, intentional progress over quick wins.
Intentionality. Everything I do is about architecting a life, and a body that can thrive long-term. That mindset informs not just our formulas, but how I live day to day.
Ok, fantastic. Let’s now move into the heart of our conversation. What is the one daily habit you believe adds years to someone’s life, but that most people still ignore?
Consistency in nervous-system regulation. Whether that’s walking without a phone, dry brushing, deep breathing, or applying body care with intention calming the body daily reduces inflammation, improves sleep, and supports cellular repair. It’s deceptively simple, and incredibly powerful.
What advice would you give to someone who struggles with consistency? How can they build daily habits without becoming overwhelmed?
Lower the bar. Most people quit because they try to change everything at once. Choose one ritual that feels grounding and pleasurable not punishing and anchor it to something you already do. Consistency comes from ease, not discipline.
What is the biggest myth about aging that you wish people would stop believing, and what does the latest science actually show instead?
That aging is a rapid decline rather than a gradual accumulation of choices. Science shows that skin barrier health, inflammation levels, and mitochondrial function respond beautifully to small, sustained interventions even later in life.
Can you explain how compounding benefits work when it comes to daily health habits? Have you experienced any surprising long-term transformations from seemingly small changes?
Compounding is subtle until it isn’t. Daily nourishment, barrier support, and stress reduction quietly stack over time. I’ve seen this personally through prioritizing skin barrier repair and my skin didn’t just improve; it became more resilient, reactive less often, and aged more slowly overall.
This is the main question of our interview. What are “5 Daily Choices That Add Years to Life”? (please share stories or examples)
1. Protect the skin barrier
Hydrated, nourished skin is foundational to long-term skin health and resilience.
2. Move gently but daily
Walking, stretching, or mobility work done consistently outperforms sporadic intensity.
3. Reduce chronic stress signals
Calm the nervous system every day, even briefly.
4. Choose nutrient-dense ingredients
Topically and internally, quality compounds over time.
5. Create rituals, not routines
Rituals invite consistency because they feel meaningful, not obligatory.
What role does mindset play in forming new habits? How do you maintain motivation when the results aren’t immediately visible?
Mindset is everything. When you stop viewing habits as chores and start seeing them as acts of self-respect, motivation becomes intrinsic. I remind myself that I’m investing in my future body even when results aren’t immediately visible.
